A Camp for Nature-Loving Kids!

CONCORD, N.H. - Barry Conservation Camp is the perfect summer camp experience for boys and girls who like the out-of-doors and wildlife. Located near York Pond, on the grounds of New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Berlin Fish Hatchery, the 5-day overnight camp has a capacity of just 30 campers, which allows for greater individualized attention. The five cabins under the pines house six campers and a counselor in each. The camp program includes shooting sports, learning about safe gun handling and hunter safety, conservation, canoeing, swimming, tours of the hatchery and activities with hatchery staff. The nearby pond affords fishing opportunities. A reduced rate of $250 is available for those who register before April 30, 2000. After that, the camp fee is $275. A $50 deposit is required with the camp application. Barry Conservation Camp opened in 1984 and is named for former Fish and Game Director Charles E. Barry and other members of the Barry family. It is operated in cooperation with New Hampshire 4-H Camps.
