1) Is your Online Nature Learning Store different than your "affiliate shops"?
Yes. Simply put, we handle all aspects of our own store---marketing, order processing and fulfillment, customer service, etc. These elements are handled by reliable outside vendors for our two "affiliate shops"---the Gigglemoose Souvenir Shop and Camp Gigglemoose.
2) Why do you have your own store and affiliate shops?
Although this Web site was started with a primary purpose of educating and entertaining, it does need to support itself. So we're also experimenting with e-commerce, allowing our friends and visitors to purchase items online. As a small, family start-up, we focus on two main goals: (1) to provide you with top quality merchandise (which we hand pick ourselves); and (2) to offer you unparalleled customer service on a personal level. We hope that our varied and ever-expanding product line---including books, games, toys, curriculum, activities, apparel, and school and library supplies--- will help you and your children explore and preserve nature.
However, we do face some limitations on the size of our inventory simply because we're a small start-up more concerned with staying in business than gearing up for an IPO. Also, the priority of gigglemoose.com has always been to provide entertaining and educational content for children, parents, and teachers, rather than becoming just another Internet shopping site. Over time, our product line will continue to expand based on your needs and requests, but until then we've partnered with trusted names in e-commerce to provide you with a wider selection of related merchandise. When you visit any of these online merchants and make a purchase, gigglemoose.com receives a small commission. (Hey, ever penny helps pay the bills!)
3) How do these affiliate shops work?
In some areas of our site, you'll see banners advertising a related shopping destination (the Gigglemoose Souvenir Shop and Camp Gigglemoose). Simply click on the appropriate link and you'll be taken directly to the merchant's site to complete your transaction. Your order will be shipped to you directly from the merchant. Feel free to continue browsing to your heart's content. When you're done, click your browser's "back" button to join us back at gigglemoose.com. It's as easy as that!
4) What about shipping costs?
Shipping is handled by the individual merchants (or "affiliate shops"). Unfortunately, that means that if you order from more than one merchant, you'll have to pay separate shipping costs for each order. HINT: if you're interested in more than one item at a specific merchant, be sure to order all of the items at the same time so you pay only one shipping charge. Again, browsing is certainly encouraged. We just hope that you eventually come back "home" to gigglemoose.com! You don't want us to get lonely, do you?
5) Are these sites safe for credit card transactions?
Absolutely! As mentioned earlier, we've only selected merchants that have years of experience in the industry, names that earn high praise from consumer advocacy groups and online shoppers themselves. When you submit a credit card number to any of these merchants, they use secure servers and state-of-the-art computer security measures to process your transaction. Just as we do in our own online Nature Learning Store, the merchants encrypt any information you type in (including credit card numbers) to prevent it from being intercepted and stolen.
6) What if I have a problem with my order(s)?
Any questions, concerns, or problems with your orders need to be directed to the specific merchants from whom you ordered. Since we're not actually involved in the transaction process, we cannot help with customer service matters.
