Back to outdoor activities & events in New Hampshire
CONCORD, N.H. - Finding a place to launch your boat or go fishing in New Hampshire just got easier, thanks to the Fish and Game Department's recently updated Boating and Fishing Public Access Map. The map's second edition lists 200 fishing and boating access sites that are open to the public throughout the state. These sites are owned or operated by municipalities and state agencies in New Hampshire, including 112 by Fish and Game.
Features of the full-color map include:
| Parking facilities and boat launch ramp types. | |
| Availability of restrooms. | |
| Lake/pond acreages. | |
| Page numbers and coordinates in the Delorme Atlas & Gazetteer. | |
| Rankings of accessibility for people with physical disabilities. | |
| Availability of shorebank or pier fishing opportunities. | |
| Tips on boating safety and angling ethics. | |
| Resources for fishing, boating and outdoor education. |
The map was funded by a grant from the Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Act, which also contributes to the Fish and Game Department's Statewide Public Access Program. The 50-year-old act provides for a federal excise tax on fishing tackle and motorboat fuel. The money is collected by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and distributed to state agencies for restoring and managing fisheries, developing public access, and aquatic education.
The New Hampshire Boating and Fishing Public Access Map is available free from boat registration agents, Fish and Game license agents, and the Fish and Game Department: (603) 271-3211 or via e-mail at info@wildlife.state.nh.us.
